THE EVENT
Since 1991, the
Atlanta Chapter of ISES in partnership with the
Atlanta Chapter of NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) has
held an awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of special events
professionals in the southern USA. The theme of the 1997
Allie Awards Nite was "Romantique."
PROJECT DESIGN
We were asked to design and produce "WOW" level Menu Card/Programs for the 1997
Allie Awards Nite. We designed a multi-page program/menu card and placed
it inside an embellished cover designed to support each table's decorations and
event's theme of baroque romance. Our palette was deep jewel-tone reds and
purples and metallic gold, and the ornate designs of Rococo art.
THE PROGRAM
The 22-page program was printed on antique gold parchment paper and bound with a
golden cord. A rococo leaf design was printed on the program's cover and
repeated throughout the program as a watermark. The event's title,
Romantique was printed on the program's cover in fuchsia metallic foil.
PROGRAM COVER
The six-inch square cover was folded Origami-style from a square of heavy
metallic gold cover stock to which we adhered smooth Jersey knit cranberry
colored cloth. We created, gilded and attached a cranberry and gold clay
medallion and lined the edges of the cloth with purple satin ribbon.
