Image 3-1 Wedding Invitation We were asked by Tim Lundy of Distinctive Design Events to meet with his wedding client and design the wedding invitation of her dreams. The Bride would be married on her father's plantation and wanted an invitation that reflected nature. Taking it one step further, we suggested that we incorporate the flowers she had selected for her wedding bouquet so each guest would have a special reminder of this event. We dried and pressed the flowers and used them in the wedding invitation cover. When the cover was opened, a packet of highly textured Cards printed in green ink and hand-edged in silver metallic gilt and wrapped in a sheet of green, Japanese rain-drop lace paper were revealed. This wedding won top awards for Tim Lundy as the Event Planner, and for Karen Casey of Karen Casey Events who served as the Wedding Planner.
Image 3-2 Wedding Dinner Invitation The Bride's wedding dinner would be held at a well-know Atlanta steakhouse and she desired a Wedding Dinner Invitation that reflected the restaurant's decor. For that reason, we choose a corrugated paper for the Invitation's outer cover. To hide yet accent the velcro closure requested by the bride, we added a small piece of copper metal we embossed by hand. The invitation's text was printed on translucent white paper and an under sheet of orange Lotka paper from Nepal India that matched the bride's fall colors was added. The inner sheets were bound to the Invitation's cover by a length of natural raffia. We designed two Wedding Invitations for this bride, one for adults and a second for children that won us an Allie Award for that year. To view the Children's Wedding Invitation, click this hyperlink.
Image 3-3 Baby Announcement and Barbecue Invitation When you blend fun, family and good news, a barbecue is always appropriate. As the Mother-to-be was expecting a baby girl, we created Invitations in the form of a pink checkered Dinner Napkin and added a silver metallic fork and knife we cut from paper.
Image 3-4 Wedding Invitation Thomasene Blount Roberts of Dream Catcher Wedding s & Events in Atlanta Georgia asked us to devise a distinctive but simple Wedding Invitation for her Bride client in colors of cream, purple and gold. After meeting with the Bride, we designed a Wedding Invitation that consisted of a textured cream cover closed with a length of gold German metallic cord. The Inner Card was made from the same artist's paper and we hand edged the Cover as well as the Insert Card in gold metallic gilt. We next collected Russian Sage from our designer's garden, pressed and dried the sprigs and then inserted them for added effect. The Bride was very pleased with the result. Description
Image 3-5 Wedding Invitation Sometimes life will bring you back to a chapter you once thought closed. This Bride and her high school love had separated over the years, married other people and divorced just to unexpectedly run into each other again and realize they were right the first time around. The Bride's wedding was the first to be held in the new Grand Overlook Ballroom of the Atlanta History Center. Taking advantage of the space, the Bride planned separate reception rooms with age-appropriate entertainment for the adults and the children; she also wanted separate Invitation for both groups. In keeping with a child's view of a wedding, we created a mobile of a wedding cake, bride and groom topped by a wedding ring that each child guest could hang in his or her bedroom. This unique invitation was nominated for an Allie Award.
Image 3-6 Wedding Invitation Aloha! The Bride and her mother planned a Hawaii Luna wedding at the SwissHotel in Atlanta's Buckhead area. With that in mind, we designed a colorful Wedding Invitation and included a lei of paper flowers we cut from variously colored Salago papers imported from the Philippines and strung on a knotted, white satin cord. Image 3-10 Wedding Invitation Thomasene Blount Roberts of Dream Catcher Wedding s & Events in Atlanta Georgia asked us to create a Oriental-styled Invitation for a Japanese bride marrying a Georgia native. We fell in love with a highly textured paper imported from Thailand and devised a secret method that allowed us to print on it. To this gorgeous paper, we added a sprig of pressed and dried Sage from our garden.
